Mary Bodne’s father, Elihu Mazo, opened the first Jewish deli in Charleston, South Carolina.  It’s where George Gershwin would hang out while researching PORGY & BESS.  Here’s a family shot at the deli, with Elihu (far right), wife Essie (middle), their children & friends.
